Rose Daphca Sherley Sènat & Nickson Saint-Fleur

Why she started: We knew a lot of other friends in Jacmel that made lamps and bags out of kalbas. We realized that we could create earrings and necklaces out of the extra material not used. A lot of women loved them so we started to make different styles about a year ago. Currently, we mostly sell to friends in our community. Selling the earrings to organizations like Haiti’s Hand Print  helps us continue to buy material needed to make more earrings and it encourages us to continue with our business, makramen kreyol ayiti (MKA). We have 3 employees total and are hoping to one day employ more! There are not a lot of jobs in our area so being able to employe more friends would be amazing!
